Main Sauvage

The brand was founded by Cécile Pinoetau and Julien Gippet in 2015. Main Sauvage stands for special and extraordinary toys and cuddly cushions from sustainable production and ecological materials such as alpaca wool. The inspiration is to design soft children's toys that appeal to children and adults alike. Main Sauvage attaches great importance to environmentally friendly production and supports smaller companies in preserving old craft traditions. The producers at Main Sauvage are carefully selected - passion and imagination are important qualities to create unconventional toys that stimulate the imagination and leave plenty of room for thought.

The two designers and founders of Main Sauvage are architects who let themselves be inspired by everyday life for their products, picking up weird and funny situations and graphically implementing them on children's toys. The aim is to appeal to children and adults alike. Main Sauvage's cuddly toys and cushions are graphically and artistically designed by French craftsmen and are produced in certified organic factories. It is important to the label to support intelligent production that respects the earth and human rights. Each product is entirely handmade and handmade in Bolivia in the Faitrade tradition from the finest and cuddliest baby alpaca wool. The alpaca yarn comes from a local company that supports alpaca breeders in the Bolivian Highlands and ensures their livelihood. 

Natural color gradations and vegan dyes

Thanks to the many colour gradations of alpacas, Main Sauvage will not use dyes in its production. The yarn is dyed with ink from water and vegan oil. The filling of the cuddly toys and pillows consists of the fibres of recycled plastic bottles. The toy is tested according to the European safety criteria and has a CE certificate. The prints are made in France and are made of water- and oil-based ink. The paper is FSC® certified.
