minimalisma: Timeless and comfortable children's clothing in Scandinavian style

Founder Maja Akraberg grew up on a small volcanic archipelago in the North Atlantic. There she was a lot in nature and this is also the inspiration for her current work as the founder and designer of minimalisma. Her interest in fashion arose quite early and her mother was a very good knitter. So she grew up wearing fine hand-knitted sweaters and dresses. In the first minimalisma collection, her mother's hand-knitted sweater even appeared in a limited edition. This was the source of inspiration for the label's soft cashmere sweaters.

To start her own label, Maja quit her job at a fashion house in Copenhagen and moved to Switzerland. It was there that she gave birth to her first daughter. She liked being a mother, but was determined to create her own clothing brand and combine her work with the tasks of a mother - the decision for baby and children's clothing was therefore an obvious one. Maja loves Scandinavian design, which she missed a lot in Switzerland. The good quality of the fabric, which she was used to from her previous job, should also flow into her work.

Many of the children's clothing from minimalisma are seamless and therefore particularly soft on baby and children's delicate skin. Wool also has naturally hypoallergenic properties. In the manufacture of the fabrics, attention is paid to sustainability and transparent and fair production. The merino wool comes from certified farms in Australia that work without mulesing and adhere to a voluntary and responsible standard to produce wool in an animal-friendly and environmentally friendly manner. The wool is treated with positive ions and chlorine-free is used to prepare the wool for washing in the washing machine and to make it durable for a long time.
