Natruba this are pretty bathing toys and teething rings made of natural rubber in Danish design.
This label is a Danish family business located on the small island of Bornholm. Natruba manufactures handmade and unique toys from environmentally friendly material that can be put in the mouth by small children without hesitation and playfully promotes their development. The Natruba toy is manufactured in a small factory in Sri Lanka. The natural rubber, which is harvested from the rubber trees there, also comes from there. Each toy is hand-painted, with environmentally friendly colours, sustainably produced and with a great expression that appeals to children and parents alike.
Natruba: Handmade rubber toy made of natural rubber
The label Natruba is run by the married couple Kasper and Line. The label has been in existence since 2016, when the couple's first child, Alberte, was born. Like most parents of the first child, Kasper and Line were worried about everything. But above all, when Alberte began to put everything she could into her mouth, the worries were great. The parents were anxiously looking for a toy that was free of harmful substances and could be easily put in the mouth. The search was unsuccessful, either because the toy was too small or simply very boring.
So they had gathered a lot of inspiration and were driven by the desire to design and produce the perfect toy themselves. All made of a perfect and environmentally friendly material. They went in search of the perfect material.
They finally opted for natural rubber because they didn't like plastics and wood was too hard, silicone too synthetic. A natural product was simply more likeable. It was a fantastic, natural, non-toxic and safe material for children. At the same time, it is sustainable, biodegradable and highly hygienic. The material is particularly suitable as a teething ring. They designed different shapes and surfaces with functionality and without neglecting safety. The couple loves to be innovative and to design many different funny, elegant and imaginative toys. They fell in love with the idea that the natural rubber toy is not only safe, but also promotes children's development because it can promote play through close interaction.
Toys, adapted to the needs of children
All product ideas come from the couple's environment and are based on the philosophy of satisfying children's needs and supporting their various stages of development in a safe and natural way.
It is no secret that the couple's children are the source of inspiration for the Natruba label. The parents observe their needs and their development. They are the inspiration for new designs or ideas for improvement in emerging designs that emerge quickly. The ideas for new designs are drawn by hand and handed over to an experienced development and sculpture team.
Natruba's toys promote children's motor skills and senses and support their cognitive and emotional development. The Natruba products are easy to grip, even for small hands, and support hand-eye coordination and stimulate fine motor skills. The toy also has different shapes, colors and surfaces that can be explored.
The Natruba toy is designed artistically by hand.
The shaping of the natural rubber toy is an artistic work and the employees of the label are true artists. They bring the construction drawings to life with many details by modelling the first prototypes by hand with clay. Close collaboration and communication is crucial throughout the forming process. Small changes to the clay model are then made in collaboration.
Once the clay model has been approved, it is allowed to dry and is used for the production of a sample mould and later for the production of the production mould. The latex is then poured into the production mould by hand and must dry for up to five days, depending on the design. After drying, it is carefully removed from the mould and brought to life. After the toy has left the mould, it is individually checked and washed by hand. Excess natural rubber and uneven surfaces are worked by hand and then thoroughly polished to give a silky soft and high quality finish.
All Natruba toys are hand-painted with food grade dyes or natural pigments. Absolutely free of harmful substances and safe, so that your child can chew on them without hesitation. Every last detail is carefully hand painted at the Sri Lanka factory, making every toy unique.
