At New Kids in the House (short: NKitH) you will find stylish children's hats and caps from Germany. The label was founded in 2017 and is based in Nuremberg.
New Kids in the House wants to design timeless and sustainable children's fashion and thus make a statement against the fast pace and fast fashion of the fashion world. The children's hats and clothing are made with care and attention to detail in a small studio in Germany. The special feature: all the materials from which the products are made are used and upcycled. The upcycling fabrics are used to create new and timeless children's clothing and accessories. In this way, New Kids in the House makes a statement on sustainability.
New Kids in the House: creative ideas and original children's hats
The founders of the label New Kids in the House are Sarah & Florian. They are real children of the 90's and inspired by a colorful and carefree youth. Sarah is a trained fashion tailor and was in the middle of her studies for social work when the company was founded. Florian is a graphic designer and ran an agency for many years. There, in a side room, the founding of NKitH finally took place. The idea for a children's label came about by chance. During her studies, Sarah met the tailor Hamdi, who fled from Syria. Just to pass the time, she began sewing her designs with him. Together with other people, sewing workshops for refugees were created in this way. At the same time, the two sewed children's clothing from old fabrics, which they brought to life in this way. Gradually, a small company emerged from this project, which Sarah's husband, Florian, also joined. The core of the project was upcycling from the start. First it was pants for their own children, then hats.
Today the New Kids in the House label stands for colorful lightness. The two founders work together on the designs. Upcycling is present in every fiber and the designs are timeless. It's fashion that comes from the heart. NKitH wants to make a real statement about sustainability and at the same time design great children's clothing and hats.
Upcycling label with colorful designs and sustainable production
The caps from New Kids in the House are made exclusively from second-hand fabrics and are produced fairly and locally in Germany and in the neighboring countries of Poland and the Czech Republic. The label is 100% upcycling and in this way produces cool and sustainable caps. The fabrics are waste from the hotel industry and are supplemented by overproduction and leftovers from the textile industry. The aim of New Kids in the House is to avoid waste while offering beautiful and stylish fashion for children.
The label has very high quality standards and all products go through a test phase before they come onto the market. Sarah & Florian still have big plans for their label and not only make children's hearts beat faster. We are enthusiastic about the original caps and hats that are sustainably produced and aim to create a better future for our children.
