The founder of the PlanToys label is Vitool Viraponsavan, who started the label with a few friends while studying architecture in 1981. Even as a child, he was at home on the rubber tree plantations in Thailand. He was fascinated from an early age by nature and its use by man. As a child, he observed how the latex trees, which were no longer of any use, were simply burned. He decided to produce toys from the wood of the discarded trees. In his early days he was a real pioneer in this field. When the PlanToys label was founded, sustainability and the quest for a better world were clearly at the forefront.

Sustainable children's toys made from discarded rubber trees

The production of the wooden toy takes place in the company's own factory in Trang (Thailand) and convinces especially by its environmentally conscious production. Only the best parts of the tree are used, such as solid wood and plywood, and also the waste products of the tree are crushed and made into robust and strong material, called PlanWood, a specially developed system for recycling wood. The roots and other "waste" material is also recycled to produce energy for the factory. Thus, no waste is generated during the production of the wooden toy.

The packaging of PlanToys' toys is made of recycled paper, which is written on with environmentally friendly ink made from soy. PlanToys supports a reforestation program and teaches children in schools about nature and how important this resource is. Children should be open-minded about nature and then contribute to a better world later on as adults.

A special feature of the factory in Thailand: children are very welcome here, and not to work, but a special play area has been created for them and parents can meanwhile produce high-quality toys under good working conditions and in a good working atmosphere.
